From training robots to building real-world AI solutions, local polytechnics are deepening partnerships with industry. The aim is to offer practical solutions to companies while providing real-world case studies for students to solve. SP’s Principal and CEO Mr Soh Wai Wah shared how SP students will upskill themselves for the Gen AI age. NYP’s Deputy Principal for Sustainability and Technology, Dr Phua Chee Teck revealed that students are helping to develop AI solutions for SMEs in areas like robotics and healthcare. NP’s Principal and CEO Mr Lim Kok Kiang noted that their school’s new diploma combines tech with legal knowledge, skills that now go hand-in-hand in the digital age. TP’s School of Business Director Ms Tan Siew Kim added that their AI courses are also focused on ethics and human value. Students might use AI for data analysis or content creation, while lecturers guide them to add the human value that AI cannot replicate, like empathy and more complex communication.
