New IMDA initiative to help 500 companies adopt autonomous robots in next three years

IMDA is helping 500 enterprises adopt autonomous mobile robots to boost productivity in sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, hospitality, and food services. A recent study found that while 80% of companies see robots as a solution to manpower inefficiencies, many are unsure which robots to adopt or how to implement them. To support adoption, IMDA has partnered with SP, Panasonic, local robotics firm dConstruct Robotics, and CapitaLand’s Smart Urban Co-Innovation Lab. These partners provide workshops, hands-on consultations, technical expertise, practical demonstrations, and personalised guidance. IMDA will also co-fund 50% of integration and interoperability costs and help build in-house robotic capabilities. Featured in Channel 8 and Channel U, Senior Director for SP’s Engineering cluster, Mr Toh Ser Khoon spoke about SP leveraging its expertise in robotics and automation, and the use of Autonomous Mobile Robots as a holistic solution. Also featured in Vasantham, and Oli968, was Manager of SP’s School of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mr Mohamed Ilyas Fakrudeen Abdul Salam. Similar news reported in CNA and Capital 95.8.
