The new year outlook for local Indian organisations in Singapore shows continued momentum in community, arts and cultural engagement as they gear up for 2026. Non-profit, youth-driven group Roses of Peace (ROP) plans its third round of the Harmony Champions programme, which trains young leaders in racial and religious harmony and is expanding to include initiatives for young working professionals. As part of earlier rounds of the programme, students from SP were appointed Harmony Champions by President Halimah Yacob at an ROP celebration in February 2023, highlighting the polytechnic’s involvement in building social cohesion. ROP’s goals include fostering deeper understanding, promoting dialogue across communities, and empowering youth to lead peace-building efforts.
