The Public Transport Council and the National Youth Council have jointly launched a new Young ChangeMakers–Caring SG Commuters Grant, which provides up to $7,000 in seed funding for youth-led caring-commuter initiatives. The aim is to encourage young people to use their creativity to improve commuting experiences and to promote a culture of kindness and mutual support on public transport. Seven members of the public received the Caring Commuter Award for showing care during their daily commutes. Another nine individuals received the Caring Commuter Champion (Inspirer) Award for promoting a commuter-friendly culture in their communities and workplaces. The Caring Commuters Partners Award was presented to Dementia Singapore, SP, and St. Patrick’s School, in recognition of their long-term support for the Caring Commuter movement and their collaboration with the Caring SG Commuters Committee to promote a culture of care on public transport. SP’s Chairman Ms Janet Ang was present at the event in her capacity as Chairman of PTC.
