SP signed six partnerships at Singapore Maritime Week 2026 to strengthen capabilities in maritime decarbonisation, cybersecurity, and workforce development, bringing together port operators, technology companies, academic institutions, and international partners to build long-term maritime capability. On talent development, SP’s Singapore Maritime Academy (SMA) partnered with MLA College to give graduates pathways to BSc and MSc degrees (validated by the University of Plymouth), while collaborations with PSA Marine focus on joint training, continuing education, and recruitment, ensuring students are job-ready. In cybersecurity, SP is working with partners like SUTD’s iTrust centre to develop specialised training to equip seafarers with practical skills in identifying and responding to threats targeting critical shipboard systems. For decarbonisation, partnerships with institutions and companies such as the SIT and industry players aim to develop training in alternative fuels, like LNG, methanol, and ammonia, and electric harbour craft, supporting the sector’s shift toward greener operations.
