Singapore puts $100 mil into maritime tech, from smart ports to AI adoption

Singapore is investing over S$100 million to accelerate maritime technology and AI adoption, focusing on smart ports, autonomous operations, and sustainability, while strengthening workforce capabilities through partnerships with institutions like SP. Emphasising the sector’s transformation, SP’s Deputy Principal for Development Ms Tan Yen Yen noted that “the industry is navigating a complex and rapidly evolving landscape across areas such as cybersecurity, decarbonisation, digitalisation and talent development,” adding that SP is working to ensure capabilities built today remain relevant, connected, and durable enough to serve the sector well into the future.
