SMU Academy forges new learning pathways with polytechnics and ITE to fast-track workforce upskilling

At an event themed “The Upskilling Imperative: Bold Moves to Transform Your Talent,” SMU Academy signed a landmark MOU with Singapore’s five polytechnics—NYP, NP, RP, SP, and TP—as well as the ITE. Witnessed by SkillsFuture Singapore’s Deputy Chief Executive Mr Tan Wee Beng and SMU President Professor Ms Lily Kong, the MOU formalises the recognition of prior learning and professional experience and creates new progression pathways from ITE and polytechnics to graduate-level qualifications. Under the agreement, polytechnic advanced and specialist diploma holders can receive up to six module credits toward SMU Academy’s Industry Graduate Diploma and Industry Practice Master of Digital Economy programmes, with additional credits for relevant work experience. For ITE diploma graduates, this marks the first direct pathway into graduate-level study at SMU.
