Commenting on the quality of batteries bought from regular stores and discount stores, SP lecturer at the School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE), Fred Wei, developed a simple setup to test. He found that the voltage from the discount store was higher than the battery from the supermarket. He pointed out that all batteries imported into Singapore need to meet regulations and concluded that batteries from both stores are safe to use.
