Three polytechnics—NP, SP, and RP—have launched five new Work-Study Post-Diploma courses this year to help more individuals pursue higher qualifications while working. Announced by Senior Minister of State for Education Dr Janil Puthucheary at the SkillsFuture Work-Study Fair held at NYP on 28 July, the new programmes include emerging fields such as youth development, mental health, and artificial intelligence. NP will offer a course in Youth Development and Mental Health, while SP will introduce one in Data Science (Artificial Intelligence), both starting in October. RP has already begun three courses since April, covering Digital Media and Communication, Accounting and Corporate Secretarial Practice, and Music and Sound Production. These initiatives are part of the SkillsFuture Work-Study Programme launched in 2015, which combines classroom learning with on-the-job training, enabling participants to study while working and potentially secure full-time employment upon completion.
