When Mr Syahir Khan Mohamed Sher Khan and his wife Ms Safi Arinah Sa'ad started their interior design company Laiian in March 2023, many were skeptical because the couple who had been married for over a year were still young. Mr Syahir is 32 while Ms Arinah is just 22. Before starting Laiian, Mr Syahir served full-time with the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) for nine years and decided to fulfill his aspiration in interior design by gaining experience with various interior design firms as a contractor. Armed with that experience, he decided to join hands with his wife who graduated with a Diploma in Interior Design from SP. Ms Arinah and Mr Syahir also use social media to display their projects. In just one year, Laiian has grown with four full-time employees and completed over 35 projects.
