The Hard Truths and Realities Bursary was established through the collective generosity of Mr Brian Chang, Professor Lim Soon Hock, and Mr Albert Phuay to support Singapore Polytechnic (SP) students in their educational journey. Inspired by the values shared in Hard Truths and Realities, a book co‑authored by Mr Chang and Professor Lim, the bursary goes beyond financial assistance to symbolise perseverance, honesty, and resilience in navigating life’s realities.
Written with honesty and purpose, Hard Truths and Realities resonates strongly with students preparing for adulthood and working life. The authors’ willingness to share real‑life lessons reflects a deep commitment to nurturing grounded, resilient individuals through education.
This meaningful initiative was made possible by the generous support of Mr Albert Phuay, whose donation funded the printing of 5,000 copies of the book. His generosity ensures that the insights and perspectives shared in Hard Truths and Realities can reach and inspire students directly.
The book launch was organised by the Singapore Polytechnic Graduates’ Guild (SPGG).
SP extends its sincere appreciation to Mr Brian Chang, Professor Lim Soon Hock and Mr Albert Phuay for their meaningful contributions to empowering and encouraging our students. SP also thanks SPGG for facilitating this meaningful donation drive.
