Chemical Engineering Students Shine at CHI Innovation Challenge 2026

Our student from the Diploma in Chemical Engineering, now renamed the Chemical & Biological Engineering (DCBE),  stepped up to the challenge at the CHI Innovation Challenge 2026, organised by the NUS Centre for Hydrogen Innovations!

Bringing together passionate student innovators, the competition invited participants to tackle real-world sustainability issues by developing AI-powered solutions for decarbonisation and hydrogen technologies.

Two of our student teams—Team HydroMind and Team Triple-A Battery—rose to the occasion and made it to the Top 12 finals. Their achievement is a testament to their curiosity, creativity, and teamwork.

A special shout-out to Team Triple-A Battery (Aqil Bin Zaid, Aaron Tan Fa Er and Fu Chuanyu) for winning the Audience Choice Award! Their engaging poster and innovative solution clearly resonated with the audience.

From brainstorming bold ideas to presenting on a national platform, all our teams showed what it means to learn beyond the classroom.
