Food Science & Technology Students Embark on Farm-to-Fork Learning Journey to Bangkok

From 12 to 18 October 2025, 20 students from the Diploma in Food Science and Technology (DFST) embarked on an enriching Farm-to-Fork Learning Journey to Bangkok, Thailand. The trip exposed students to the full food value chain, covering large-scale food manufacturing, agricultural production and sustainable farming systems. The programme included industry visits to the Meiji dairy production facility, the Yum Yum instant noodle factory and the Royal Umbrella and Ajinomoto factories, providing first-hand insights into food processing, automation and quality control.

The students also visited key agricultural sites, including a traditional salt farm, an urban rooftop farm and an experiential modern farm featuring smart agriculture and mechanisation. They also experienced cultural exchange at the PIM campus and King Mongkut's Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, where they learned Muay Thai and prepared Thai dishes such as mango sticky rice and Pad Thai.
