EEE Alumnus Wins US$1M Hult Prize Global Finals

School of EEE extends our heartiest congratulations to our alumnus Chong Ing Kai (Class of 2023, DEB), founder and CEO of Stick ’Em, on winning US$1 million at the 2025 Hult Prize Global Finals. This historic achievement marks the first time a Singaporean team has clinched the top honour, triumphing over more than 200,000 participants from 130 countries and nearly 2,000 universities worldwide.

Stick ’Em develops affordable Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) kits, complemented by an online platform that empowers teachers to run their own classes. With this award, Ing Kai and his co-founders will be able to further their mission of making STEAM education “more affordable and accessible” to schools around the world.

Often described as the “Nobel Prize for students”, the Hult Prize is one of the world’s most prestigious student entrepreneurship competitions. Beyond the award, this milestone is a significant boost for Singapore’s innovation and start-up ecosystem, and a step forward in leveling the education playing field for learners regardless of background.

At EEE, we could not be prouder of Ing Kai — not only for securing this prestigious prize, but also for showing our students what is possible when one dares to dream and perseveres with passion.
