Your DMAD experience begins with the common programme in the first semester known as the Foundry, where you will build foundational skills across all media, arts and design domains. You will also take two pre-specialisation modules. With the exposure to different specialisations, you will be better equipped to select the ones that best match your passions.
In Year 1 Semester 2, start your journey in with a deep dive into the roles of the media and content creators in society. You'll also learn the fundamentals of journalism,and get an introduction to scriptwriting and video storytelling. This comprehensive base prepares you for advanced learning in the next two years.
You will build upon the foundational knowledge gained in Year 1, advancing your expertise in areas such as entertainment content production, documentary filmmaking, and video production. You will also engage in a deeper exploration of journalism and developing scripted content. The Sustainable Innovation Project (SIP) will provide you with the opportunity to apply your refined skills to real-world challenges.
Your final year is dedicated to real-world application of the skills and knowledge acquired throughout the Story & Content Creation course, preparing you for a successful transition into your professional career. This includes a 22-week internship, providing valuable hands-on experience in a professional environment, alongside the Final Year Project (FYP), which offers the opportunity to produce polished, high-quality work across genres - whether narrative filmmaking, documentary filmmaking, or series development - with the possibility of undertaking a film production overseas.

SP students can intern for 22 weeks at startups, SMEs, MNCs, and government agencies. They have interned at Mediacorp, Our Grandfather Story, AsiaOne, Marina Bay Sands, SPH Media, Akanga Films Asia and even at the Istana.
Some interns have made significant contributions, sometimes even outperforming university interns. Many started as interns and were later offered roles like Content Creators and Digital Media Specialists.
