SP DID Students Push Creative Boundaries at the DB&B 30th Anniversary Design Hackathon

From 8 to 10 June 2026, 14 talented Year 2 and Year 3 students from the Diploma in Interior Design (DID) took part in an intense, fast-paced design hackathon held at the offices of leading workplace interior design firm DB&B.

To celebrate their momentous 30th anniversary, Interior Design firm DB&B invited our students to collaborate in pairs and conceptualise a unique, impactful installation or artwork for a prominent designated wall within their office space.

Over the three-day challenge, the student pairs pushed creative boundaries, expertly balancing visual impact with physical feasibility. The final submissions showcased a masterful integration of sustainability, innovative materiality, structural depth, texture, and dynamic lighting solutions.

We are thrilled to announce Lim Xin Lin and Erinn Foo as the winning team! Their design concept perfectly encapsulated the brief, delivering a stunning and sophisticated vision that truly impressed the judges.

Congratulations to Xin Lin, Erinn, and all our participating DID students for showcasing the exceptional design grit, creativity, and industry readiness that define the ABE community!
