The Dialysis-Friendly Kitchen 2025, organised by Temasek Polytechnic and sponsored by National Kidney Foundation (NKF), took place on 12 September 2025. The competition brought together student teams from Nanyang Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic, and Temasek Polytechnic, who rose to the challenge of creating delicious yet dialysis-friendly meals.
Three teams from SP’s Diploma in Food Science & Technology (DFST) course made it into the top eight finalists. Showcasing both culinary flair and nutritional knowledge, the teams prepared a single-course lunch and a tea-time snack, with the added challenge of keeping the total cost within $15. A team from SP DFST, comprising Year 1 students Maya Serena Binte Fazlie Indrawan and Jaslyn Teo Jia En, stood out and proudly clinched the Best Practical Snack Award.

Beyond the competition, the experience left a meaningful impact. Students walked away not only with new skills and teamwork spirit, but also with a deeper understanding of the dietary challenges dialysis patients face and the realisation that healthy eating can truly be both nourishing and enjoyable.
