Meet Dr. Tan Tuan Lin, a SP alumnus to Senior Director.

After completing his postdoctoral research at the University of California, San Diego, Dr. Tan transitioned into education - inspired by the joy of teaching, student interaction, and meaningful connection.

At SP, he progressed from lecturer to course manager, deputy director, and now serves as Senior Director overseeing both the School of Chemical & Life Sciences and the School of Computing.

Even in senior leadership, he chooses to keep teaching, to stay close to students, understand on-ground challenges, and ensure SP’s curriculum remains future-ready in fast-evolving fields like sustainability and AI.

His biggest fulfilment is from witnessing student successes, particularly those who progress successfully into the workforce, university or receive prestigious scholarships. His graduates’ journeys continue to inspire his commitment to education.
