EEE Students Clinch Multiple Awards at RoboRoarZ Indonesia 2025

EEE students collaborated with students from Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH), Indonesia, to participate in RoboRoarZ Indonesia 2025, held from 30 to 31 October 2025 at UPH, Tangerang, Indonesia.

Organised by UPH and co-sponsored by Lionsbot, The James Dyson Foundation, and Wefaa Robotics, the competition was conducted under the theme “Navigate the Future with Robotics.” The event featured the SUTD-designed reconfigurable robotics platform “Smorphi”, a design-centred competition that promotes creativity, innovation, and collaboration among participants.

Two combined teams comprising SP-EEE and UPH students — RoboGarage and RoboConfig — competed in three university-level categories: Imaginary Challenge, Pilot Challenge, and Autonomous Challenge. Together, the teams achieved five awards across the three categories.

The students demonstrated strong technical proficiency, critical thinking, and teamwork throughout the competition. Their commendable performance showcased their ability to apply engineering principles effectively while adapting to dynamic challenges in an international setting.

  • RoboConfig – 1st in Autonomous Challenge, 2nd in Imaginary Challenge
    • Lee Jia Yik (DCPE, Year 2)
    • Zhou Yining (DCPE, Year 2)
  • RoboGarage – 3rd in Imaginary Challenge, 3rd in Pilot Challenge, 3rd in Autonomous Challenge
