EEE Students Win 1st Runner-Up at ASMI Hackathon 2025

From 16 to 22 October 2025, a team of Year 2 students from the Diploma in Computer Engineering (DCPE) represented Singapore Polytechnic at the inaugural ASMI Marine & Offshore Energy Hackathon 2025, held at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), Campus Court 1.

Organised by the Association of Singapore Marine & Offshore Energy Industries (ASMI) and co-organised by NTUC’s e2i and SIT, the hackathon is a non-coding, solutions-based competition where participants tackled real-world problem statements aligned with this year’s theme: “Driving Green & Smart Maritime & Offshore Energy Solutions for Tomorrow.”

EEE’s Team GhostCatcher impressed the judges with their innovative idea to enhance fuel economy and operational efficiency, earning them the 1st Runner-Up Award.

The team comprises Lee Jia Yik, Zhou Yining, and Ang Sue-e, all from DCPE Year 2.

Congratulations to Team GhostCatcher for their strong showing and for contributing fresh ideas to the future of maritime and offshore energy!
