A group of 20 Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) students, accompanied by 3 staff members, embarked on a transformative study trip to Japan in September 2025. We were honored to be among the first foreign Institute of Higher Learning (IHL) to visit some of Japan’s most prestigious global semiconductor equipment companies.
The itinerary included exclusive visits to Advantest, Canon, JEOL, and the National Institute of Technology, Kisarazu College. Japan’s leadership in technology and innovation—especially in the semiconductor sector—was on full display. Through immersive learning journeys to R&D centers and production facilities, students witnessed cutting-edge technologies and gained a deeper understanding of Japan’s pivotal role in both the front-end and back-end of the global semiconductor supply chain.
Beyond technical exposure, the programme offered valuable insights into:
These experiences shape our students into globally aware professionals, equipped with a nuanced appreciation of international best practices and the collaborative spirit that drives technological advancement.
