SP EEE Partners with Industry to Develop Talent in 800V DC Technologies for AI Data Centres
The School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering (EEE) co-organised the 800V Direct Current (DC) Data Centres Symposium 2026 alongside the Institute of Technical Education (ITE) and ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC) on 18 August 2026 at the ITE College East Auditorium.
As demand for AI computing continues to surge, data centres require next-generation power infrastructure capable of delivering higher power densities with greater energy efficiency. The symposium and fireside chat brought together industry leaders, educators, and aspiring engineers to explore 800V DC architectures and their role in powering the next era of AI infrastructure.
Strengthening Industry-Academia Partnerships
A major milestone for the School of EEE was the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with four global industry leaders: Delta Electronics Southeast Asia & Oceania, LITEON Technology, Zhonhen, and Eaton.
Through these strategic collaborations, SP EEE will co-develop specialised training courses and competency frameworks focused on next-generation power systems. These initiatives ensure SP’s curriculum stays closely aligned with rapidly shifting industry standards while building a robust talent pipeline for the power and data centre sectors.
Equipping Future-Ready Talent for the AI Era
The symposium marked a significant step forward in uniting academia and industry to build a resilient, sustainable power ecosystem.
Through hands-on learning, real-world industry attachments, and curriculum co-development, SP EEE remains committed to preparing students and mid-career professionals with practical competencies to lead innovation in AI-ready green data centres.
