MAE student, NG YU FEI, has been awarded the Commendation Award (Senior Student Category) at the Tan Kah Kee Young Inventors’ Award (TKKYIA) 2026 for his innovative project, H2O Predictive Ocean Anti-Hydrocarbon Drone Fleet Swarm System. Developed in collaboration with Devendran Venkatesh from River Valley Junior College, the project addresses the growing challenge of micro-scale hydrocarbon pollution in oceans and coastal waters.
The solution combines predictive modelling, artificial intelligence, autonomous drones, and swarm technology to identify pollution hotspots and deploy fleets of drones to remove contaminants efficiently. By leveraging environmental data and coordinated drone operations, the system offers a scalable and cost-effective approach to mitigating marine pollution before it escalates into larger environmental issues. This achievement reflects the students’ commitment to innovation, sustainability, and engineering excellence in developing technology-driven solutions for real-world environmental challenges.
