On 26 November 2025, a group of 35 students from the School of Computing (SoC) participated in an industrial visit to Alibaba Cloud, as part of the school’s ongoing efforts to expose students to current industry practices and emerging technologies in cloud computing and artificial intelligence.

The visit enabled students to gain real-world exposure to cloud technologies and AI-driven solutions, supported by a hands-on workshop led by Alibaba Cloud specialists. Through the session, students explored practical applications of cloud platforms and intelligent systems, strengthening their understanding of how these technologies power modern digital ecosystems.

At the end of the programme, the students received a Certificate of Participation from Alibaba Cloud, acknowledging their involvement and learning. The hands-on AI workshop, combined with direct industry interaction, broadened their technical competencies and inspired many to further pursue skills in cloud computing and artificial intelligence.
