SoC Students Won Third Prize and the Microsoft Copilot Award at Dell InnovateFest 2025

This year’s Dell InnovateFest 2025, held at the National Gallery Singapore, brought together young innovators from polytechnics and universities to showcase ideas that use technology for good. In partnership with the Movement for the Intellectually Disabled of Singapore (MINDS), the challenge invited students to design tech-driven solutions addressing mental health concerns among teenagers and caregivers of Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (PWIDs).

School of Computing’s Team Mbrace stood out among five finalist teams and clinched the third prize, in addition to the Best Use of Microsoft Copilot Award.

Their winning app, Mbrace, supports caregivers of PWIDs by offering daily encouragement, peer support, curated resources, and AI-powered guidance to help caregivers feel understood and connected.

Year 2 students Jaxon Lim and Woon Seng Hong from the Diploma in Information Technology* said: “When we started, we kept asking ourselves if we could really build something that makes a difference. Meeting caregivers through MINDS changed everything. One of them said, ‘I just need to know someone understands what I’m going through.’ That moment made us realise why we were doing this.”
