Amidst the backdrop of global disruption and uncertainty brought on by COVID-19, Singapore Polytechnic launched the much anticipated Company and Workforce Transformation (CWT) initiative on 21 June 2021. Warmly welcoming colleagues at the virtual launch, DP (DEV) Ms Georgina Phua led the introduction on CWT ver2.0. Developed by SP’s Industry and Partnership (InP) team, and co-designed with 11 companies across diverse sectors; CWT fosters SP ‘s commitment to help SMEs chart their I4. transformation journey.

Expanding on this, DP hoped that schools, will through this launch, gain a better understanding of what SP as a whole can holistically guide SMEs in resolving their business and operation needs.

Sharing further, DP added that in addition to focus group discussions with industry, InP also presented and received strong support for CWT from key stakeholders including Trade Associations and Chambers, SkillsFuture SG (SSG), Enterprise Singapore (ESG) and other agencies. Commending SP for this comprehensive suite of programs, SSG went so far as to reccomend SP to trademark CWT.

Citing schools, some of whom have contributed to the design of the CWT programs, DP noted that strong support from schools has helped SP take on more projects to enable SMEs to transform – “when SMEs do well, our students will have more job opportunities on graduation… beyond looking at student opportunities, CWT also helps us (as educators) keep abreast of industry trends and foster relevance to industry.”
