GSAs Are Still Trying To Survive; Continue To Explore Other Business Ventures – Berita Harian, 5 June 2021

As featured on Berita Harian on the recent announcement by the Singapore Islamic Religious Council that the Hajj has been postponed again for a second year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Hajj and Umrah package sales agents (GSA) have sought to explore other business ventures in new areas in order to survive. Among them is Shahidah Travel who have partnered with the Food Innovation & Resource Centre (FIRC), a joint initiative between Singapore Polytechnic and Enterprise Singapore, to produce ajwa date syrup which is a healthier alternative to sugar.
