Nearly 22,000 visitors attended the Istana Open House on 26 July, held in conjunction with Singapore's 61st National Day celebrations. A key highlight was the first-ever open-air concert at the Istana, with performances held in both the morning and evening. President Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam and First Lady Ms Jane Ittogi met members of the public and watched the performances. Despite morning rain, all planned activities continued indoors without disruption. Marking the 60th anniversary of Singapore's National Pledge, the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth set up a digital Pledge Wall to encourage Singaporeans to reflect on the meaning of national identity and strengthen social cohesion. Visitors also enjoyed sports activities, children's programmes, heritage exhibits, craft workshops, a stamp collection challenge organised with SP, and performances by local artistes including Shazza, Amston Huang, and New Opera Singapore.
