Bridging the Gap Between Technology and People Through Work with Rural Filipinos

Mr Arryan Daniyal Aznizam’s passion for electronics and hands-on learning led him to pursue a Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering at SP, where he graduated with a GPA of 3.68. He was among the 4,088 Pre-Employment Training graduates celebrated at SP’s 66th Diploma Presentation Ceremony, which honoured a total of 5,604 graduates, including 1,516 Continuing Education and Training graduates. His perspective on engineering was transformed through the Learning Express (LeX) programme in rural Batangas, the Philippines, where he worked with local and university students to develop a sustainable tourism plan aimed at improving the livelihoods of villagers. Combined with industry exposure during an internship at Micron Technology, the experience strengthened his aspiration to become an engineer who bridges technology and human needs. He plans to further his studies in electrical engineering at either NTU or NUS after completing his National Service. COMMS note: This was part of our Graduation 2026 stories.
