Desmond Lee: Government will continue to strengthen the transition from classroom to workplace to support polytechnic graduates

Education Minister Mr Desmond Lee highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting polytechnic graduates in transitioning from the classroom to the workplace, helping them build meaningful and sustainable careers. The 2025 Polytechnic Graduate Employment Survey showed that 90% of graduates found employment within six months, with median salaries rising to S$3,000, reflecting continued demand for polytechnic talent across industries despite global economic uncertainties. Minister Lee noted that polytechnic education not only equips students with industry-relevant skills but also fosters confidence, life skills, and adaptability, preparing graduates to thrive in their careers. He cited examples from SP, where Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering graduate Ashogan li Duat Letchumanan secured a position with the Republic of Singapore Air Force, and NP, where Diploma in Design graduate Victoria Yap impressed her Singapore Oceanarium employer during her internship and received a full-time job offer before graduation.
