Forum: Don’t let AI dull our thinking

In this commentary, the writer, a third-year Diploma in Computer Engineering student at SP, discussed how the rise of Large Language Models (LLMs) is driving AI development. ChatGPT can not only generate high-quality text, but also answer questions, assist in programming, and even create content. Microsoft has integrated Copilot into its Edge browser, and Coursera has launched virtual teaching assistants powered by LLMs — all evidence that AI is penetrating every industry, helping businesses streamline processes and improve services. They noted however, that AI is not omnipotent, and its limitations cannot be ignored. The advancement of LLMs is exciting, but they are not the final destination. AI may improve efficiency, but it cannot replace human thinking. We should leverage its strengths while maintaining independent judgment to truly benefit from technological progress.
