Despite having a degree in Materials Science and Engineering from NTU, Mr Abdul Rauf Mohamed Raffi has a deep interest in exploring the maritime sector. Driven by his curiosity about the ins and outs of the marine industry, Mr Abdul Rauf made the bold decision to go back to school despite his full-time job as an Assistant Quality Assurance Manager at maritime company, NYK Energy Ocean. He took a part-time Specialist Diploma in Maritime Superintendency course from SP for a year and graduated recently. He also received the UNIMEX Gold Medal, which is presented to outstanding students with a good attendance record. UNIMEX is a platform that provides support to students and workers in the maritime industry. However, for Rauf, every class he attended and the concepts of maritime laws and regulations he learned have increased his understanding of his role in the maritime industry.
