Naresh Arumugam, 22, grew up listening to his brother’s experiences while he was doing his national service, which led him to develop a keen interest in defence and the military. Naresh, who has received the Defence Science and Technology Agency (DSTA) Scholarship, is looking forward to contributing to the country after completing his studies. Naresh was inspired to enter the defence sector by receiving the DSTA scholarship while studying for a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering at SP. A total of 82 people, including Naresh, received their Defence Scholarships yesterday. Defence Minister Mr Chan Chun Sing was the guest of honour at the ceremony held at the Temasek Club premises and presented the scholarships. Senior Minister of State for Defence Mr Zaqy Mohamad was also present.
