Singapore’s aerospace sector is facing a significant skills shortage, with over 1,000 additional technicians needed at Singapore Aero Engine Services (SAESL) over the next five years to support maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) operations for aircraft engines. The company is expanding rapidly as the aviation industry recovers and demand for skilled technical labour grows. To help fill this gap, SAESL is working closely with education and training partners, including polytechnics, to develop a pipeline of technically qualified graduates. SAESL also signed a memorandum of understanding with SP to establish a framework for longer-term collaboration focused on strengthening the talent pipeline for aerospace MRO.
