Singapore’s hospitality and tourism sector has launched its first joint Hospitality and Tourism Student Chapter for ITE and polytechnic students, aimed at strengthening the talent pipeline and connecting education more closely with industry needs. The chapter was launched on 23 October at the Singapore Hospitality and Tourism Conference 2026. The participating institutions are ITE, NYP, NP, RP, SP, and TP. The chapter will provide students with networking, industry learning journeys, mentorship and more internship opportunities, helping them transition into tourism careers. The initiative is co-chaired by TP and RP. The conference also featured a career fair with more than 20 employers offering about 1,400 job and internship opportunities. A student hackathon challenged 40 students to explore how AI could support human-centred hospitality, reinforcing the importance of combining technology with the human touch in the sector.
