SP hosts "Homecoming," inviting alumni to revisit their old campus

SP held its Homecoming on Saturday, 10 October, attracting about 600 alumni, distinguished graduates, staff and current students. The event gave alumni an opportunity to revisit the former campus at Prince Edward Road before its redevelopment and reflect on their student days. SP’s Principal and CEO, Mr Soh Wai Wah, said one purpose of the event was to honour alumni who studied at the former campus in the 1960s and 1970s before entering the workforce. He highlighted the significant contribution this generation made to Singapore’s development. Founded in 1954, SP began operating at Prince Edward Road in 1959 and initially trained talent in areas such as architecture, engineering, and maritime studies, before moving to its Dover Road campus. The homecoming featured alumni sharing their experiences, displays of engineering education methods and tools from different eras, and stories of multiple generations of families who studied at the institution.
