SP alumnus Captain Chatur Wahyu, director of the Singapore Maritime Academy (SMA), and Diploma in Nautical Studies student Thaqifah shared their experiences of seafaring across different generations. While maritime training has evolved from manual navigation to advanced technology and greener ships, both share a passion for adventure and exploring the world. Captain Chatur, who sailed to six continents, returned to SP as a lecturer in 2000, while Thaqifah is preparing for a 12-month sea training programme as a cadet officer.
