Mr Wee Liang Kiang, Chairman of Patec Group, credits much of his success to seizing unexpected opportunities. A graduate of SP's earliest batch of Diploma in Mechanical Engineering students, he went on to build a global precision engineering business supplying components for hard disk drives, gaming controllers and automobiles. After gaining experience at General Electric and studying advanced manufacturing in Japan under an AOTS scholarship, Wee expanded Patec into high-value manufacturing. The company is now preparing to enter the semiconductor precision ceramics market, benefiting from growing AI-driven demand for data storage components.
