When heart meets action: Shining a light on social work excellence in Singapore

At the Outstanding Social Work Awards 2026, social workers and organisations were recognised for impactful work in areas such as youth support, dementia care and helping vulnerable groups, highlighting innovation and community impact in Singapore’s social service sector. One featured case is Mr Dzulkarnaen, who shared how he overcame social isolation, saying it “felt like a prison of comfort” and that recovery takes time. After returning to school in 2023, he graduated with a perfect grade point average in Mechanical Engineering from ITE College East and plans to continue his education at SP, reflecting how sustained support can transform lives.
