This Micro-Credential in Human Resource (HR) Innovation – Data-Collection and Preparation in Design Thinking is a collaborative endeavour brought to you by Singapore Polytechnic, School of Business in partnership with the Institute for Human Resource Professionals (IHRP). This micro-credential equips HR professionals with the essential skills to design and collect HR data from employees for the purpose of generating business and HR insights. Upon successful completion, participants can apply for an IHRP Skills Badge, underscoring their expertise and dedication to advancing in the HR field.
This micro-credential is designed to equip HR professionals with the necessary data collection and preparation skills in Design Thinking – which includes the design, collection, implementation, and preparation of data for HR insights. Whether you are a HR executive or manager, this program equips you with the skills necessary to harness the power of HR data for strategic advantage.
This is a 5-week part-time course with lessons conducted in a blended learning mode, including in-class teaching and synchronised online lessons (in the evening), and face-to-face assessment.
This micro-credential is designed to equip participants with the foundational knowledge and skills in Design Thinking. Participants will be introduced to applying the concept of empathy and show how it underpins user-centric Human Resource (HR) in projects alongside with tools, such as structured observations and deep user interviews in conducting ethnographic research and to eventually prepare data for insights generation on identified organisational issues.
By the end of the Course, participants will be able to:
Identify HR challenges and opportunities that can be addressed using design thinking.
Identify potential stakeholders from whom HR data is to be collected.
Apply user empathy concepts to gain a deeper understanding of employee needs, motivations, and pain points.
Propose tools and techniques to gather HR data.
Prepare data for HR insights generation.
