Course Objective
The course aims assessing Resident Technical Officers' (RTO) basic Building Information Modelling (BIM) skills for managing mechanical services, in the construction industry. They will be assessed, based on their practical applications of software, like Autodesk Revit and Construction Cloud to enhance project coordination, streamline workflows, and ability to ensure maintainability addressing interdisciplinary clashes and improving collaboration.

The WSQ Assessment-Only Pathway (AOP) provides a pathway for applicants to obtain a Chartered Technologist credential with Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES).
Please self-assess your eligibility to enrol in the WSQ AOP with the following questions:
- To understand the questions in this AOP, I at least possess ES Workplace Literacy (Reading, Writing, Listening & Speaking) Level 6 or GCE 'O' Level English Grade C6 or GCE ‘N’ level passes in English Language Grade 5; AND at least possess ES Workplace Numeracy Level 6 or GCE'O' Level Mathematics Grade C6, or GCE ‘N’ level passes in Mathematics Grade 5
- I am currently performing the job role or job tasks of a C&S/M&E Resident Technical Officer at my workplace
- I have one of the required certification and corresponding minimum years of relevant working experience:
- A skills-based certificate, and minimum 6 years of working experience
- A local diploma or ITE work-study diploma, and minimum 3 years of working experience
- Either a local degree not recognised under Washington Accord or a foreign degree, but minimum 2 years of working experience
- A degree recognised under Washington Accord, and minimum 1 year of working experience
If any of your answers to the above 3 questions are no, SP encourages you to enrol in the training cum assessment course instead of the WSQ AOP. Details of the training cum assessment course will be furnished subsequently. You are not required to submit the result of this self-assessment during registration.
If you are eligible to enrol in the WSQ AOP, please follow these steps:
- Click here to register with IES
- After IES’ review of your eligibility, you will receive an approval email from IES
- Register with SP via this STEP webpage. Please upload a copy of IES’ approval email during registration
- SP will offer you a place upon confirmation of your eligibility
- Accept the offer and complete course fee payment to be enrolled to the WSQ AOP
- SP will send a confirmation email with details prior to the commencement date.
