What You Will Learn
This course is a collaborative endeavour brought to you by Singapore Polytechnic, School of Business, in partnership with the Institute for Human Resource Professionals (IHRP). It equips Human Resources (HR) professionals as well as First-Line managers with essential skills to manage performance and workforce transitions fairly, empathetically, and effectively. Participants will, therefore, balance organisational imperatives with employee motivation, trust, and retention
Participants can apply for a IHRP Skills Badge upon successful completion, underscoring their expertise and commitment advancing people’s management capabilities.
By end of this course, participants will be able to:
Apply structured performance planning with SMART goals, Objectives, and Key Results (OKRs) to drive fair and motivating outcomes.
Conduct performance conversations with Situation-Behaviour-Impact (SBI) feedback and feedforward techniques to support employee development.
Resolve workplace grievances using documented, respectful, and legally compliant procedures that preserve trust.
Design retrenchment and transition plans aligning with Tripartite Guidelines demonstrating empathy and fairness.
Execute exit interviews and offboarding processes that uphold professionalism, data protection, and organisational reputation.
Evaluate employee performance and transition scenarios to recommend appropriate interventions balancing business needs with employee well-being.
