Course Objective

A trainee successfully completing this course shall be able to take immediate responsibility for loading, discharging and care in transit or handling of cargo on Liquefied Gas Tankers.

Course Outline

The course intends to enhance the safety of Liquefied gas tanker operations by providing the knowledge and skills necessary to fully understand the safety system and operational requirements of Liquefied Gas tankers. This course is delivered through a combination of classroom lectures and practical demonstrations on the use of safety equipment. Case studies, the use of ‘Liquid Cargo Handling Simulator’ (LCHS) and multimedia teaching aids are included in the course to promote a better appreciation of safety operations on such tankers. All cargo related operations are explained and evaluated in LCHS.

Minimum Requirements

This course is open to deck and engineering officers who have completed a shore based firefighting training course approved by ‘Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore’ (MPA), and completed basic Liquefied Gas Tanker Training Course OR 3 months sea-service on any tanker.

Certification / Accreditation

For candidates who meets minimum entry criteria, STCW Certificate will be issued upon successful completion of the course.
For candidates who do not meet minimum entry criteria, Certificate of Attendance will be issued

Suitable for

The course aims at providing training at an advanced level for Masters, Chief Engineer Officers, Chief Mates, Second Engineer Officers and any person onboard Liquefied Gas tankers who have immediate responsibility for the loading, discharging, care in transit and/or handling of the cargo.
