What You Will Learn

This course equips participants with the foundational and applied skills needed to build practical AI applications — intelligent systems powered by large language models (LLMs) that can autonomously reason, plan, and act.

The course begins with a gentle introduction to basic Python programming, making it accessible to participants without prior coding experience. They are then introduced to core LLM Application Programming Interfaces (API) for programmatically handling prompt engineering and system roles. They will learn the core Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and text processing concepts using vector databases like ChromaDB. Participants will, finally, by build and deploy fully functional AI assistants as interactive web applications tie everything together using Streamlit.

This course is ideal for professionals, educators, and career switchers seeking how to responsibly apply AI in work settings. By the end of this course, participants will be able to build and deploy custom AI applications tailored to real needs in customer service, education, administration, or knowledge work.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
  1. Write Python programs to interact with Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), handle files, and prepare AI model inputs.
  2. Develop structural AI logic using APIs, utilising system/user prompts, temperature settings, and role management.
  3. Build data-driven AI solutions with file indexing, vector search, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
  4. Deploy interactive web applications using Streamlit presenting AI assistant workflows to end-users.
