Course Objective

The course aims to train participants in the areas of railway engineering related to train operation, control and signalling. There will be specialised modules like Rapid Transit System and Rapid Transit Signalling System that cover Automatic Train Operation (ATO), Automatic Train Protection (ATP) and Automatic Train Supervision (ATS) systems. There will also be general engineering foundation modules in the areas of electrical and electronics engineering.

The training will allow participants to acquire basic knowledge and practical skills to work more effectively in the rapid transit industry. For those working in relevant companies, the course offers an accelerated pathway by recognising related training at workplace. This provides workers a career progression pathway to become technician or senior technician in mechanical and electrical as well as signal and communications by acquiring a diploma qualification while continuing to be in the workforce. The course is developed referencing the SkillFuture framework requirements on the job roles.
