What You Will Learn

This course aims to provide technical training on the processing and characterisation of plastics recycling.

Participants will learn how to transform and upcycle post-consumer plastic waste into new source of materials in renewable and sustainable ways.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
  1. Identify different conventional plastics.
  2. Compare and contrast between conventional and sustainable plastics.
  3. Analyse different post-consumer plastics for recycling and composting.
  4. Demonstrate plastic synthesis and recycling processes through hands-on experiment.

Topics to be covered
  • Fundamentals of conventional and sustainable polymers
  • Technology trends in recycling, upcycling and composting
  • Practical demonstration
  • Assessment of skills and/or knowledge
