Solar energy remains Singapore's most reliable renewable energy source for Electricity Generation. With an average annual solar irradiance of 1,580 kWh/m2/year and about 50 percent more solar radiation than temperate countries, Solar Photovoltaic (PV) generation has the greatest potential for wider deployment.
Rapid growth in demand for solar power also prompts Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Engineers and Technicians be equipped with the knowledge and technical skills for deploying solar power systems and operating them. Other professionals and non-technical people will also benefit from knowing the technology's sustainable applications.
Hence, this 1-day course aims preparing these people for designing, installing, and maintaining solar PV systems.
This course aligns with the Singapore Skills Framework's Technical Skill Competency (TSC), in the Electrical sector for roles of Electrical Technicians, Assistant Engineers, or Engineers to design, install, test, and commission solar PV systems.
