The Work-Study Post-Diploma (Specialist Diploma in Process Operations, Safety & Health) focuses on the competencies that are applied in the energy & chemicals sector, biopharmaceutical manufacturing sector or adjacent supporting companies.
Participants are equipped with the knowledge and skills required to undertake roles that include Senior Process Technician, Production Senior Technician, Senior Laboratory Technician / Technologist and Quality Control Senior Laboratory Analyst in companies that belong to the energy & chemicals sector, biopharmaceutical manufacturing sector or adjacent supporting companies. The knowledge and skills include a balance of workplace safety & health and chemical engineering skillsets.
This is a 12-months structured training programme designed to give participants a head-start in a career in the energy & chemicals sector, biopharmaceutical manufacturing sector or adjacent supporting companies as technicians through the deepening of relevant occupational and industry knowledge and skills through modules at SP and SUSS and structured On the Job Training (OJT) at participating companies.
Upon completion of the two Post-Diploma Certificates and fulfilment of the skills competency through on-the-job training within the twelve-month validity period, participants will be conferred the Specialist Diploma in Process Operations, Safety & Health from Singapore Polytechnic.

For the upcoming October intake, 2 modules (CP1222 Safety Management & Audit and CP1223 Risk Assessment & Management) are conducted at the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) from January 2027, with examinations held in April 2027. Students will concurrently progress to PDC2 in the second semester in April. At the end of the first semester, SP will release results for CP1221 Occupational Health & Safety Engineering and CP1224 Chemical Engineering Processes only. Results for the modules conducted at SUSS will be released together with the PDC2 modules at the end of the second semester. |
This WSP provides a fast-track pathway to degree studies at the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS). Graduates of this WSP have the option to further their study with the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS).
The following 2 modules, within the WSP, are run by SUSS. Upon successful completion of the following two SUSS modules, with at least a minimum pass grade, you may be considered for credit recognition towards the Bachelor of Science in Workplace Safety and Health (BSc WSH) and the Bachelor of Science in Human Factors in Safety (BSc HFS), in accordance with SUSS credit recognition policies and approval processes. Both degree programmes are recognised as meeting the academic pre-requisites for the Ministry of Manpower’s Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) registration:
