Cementing Singapore’s maritime status

The Business Times, 27 Oct 2015 - Article featured how Singapore’s maritime sector is important to the economy as it provides 170,000 jobs and accounts for 7 per cent of the country’s GDP. In order to maintain Singapore’s position as a global maritime leadership position, the maritime sector has a strong R&D eco-system in which institutes of higher learning and industry players play an important role. SP’s Singapore Maritime Academy Research and Training Centre and NP’s Marine & Offshore Technology Centre of Innovation were mentioned as examples.
