Controlling Pokemon will kill creativity

Lianhe Zaobao, 26 Jul 2016 - Game experts expressed that it is good for the government to exercise some control to the Augmented Reality games, such as the “Pokemon Go” game which will soon be launched in Singapore. SP’s Diploma in Games Design and Development Course Chair Loh Chi Yong opined that there should always be guidelines on areas which are prohibited for access, for safety or security reason, and members of the public should understand the reasons for these guidelines and play the games accordingly. Besides making engaging games for the audience, game designer’s responsibility also lies in promoting proper and responsible use of technology.
